Dear Friends of Cantus:
I’m writing to let you know that we must postpone the 25th anniversary concert and gala, which had been scheduled for May 3. As disappointing as this is, we simply could not press ahead as planned, given the uncertainty of the COVID-19 crisis.
In the coming weeks, we will work with our partners to reschedule the event, and I’ll look forward to sharing that information with you as it becomes available. In the meantime, we’re also planning to share new content online to offer, as best we’re able, music during this time of great uncertainty.
As a friend of Cantus, you can appreciate the incredible strain that this postponement places on our organization, one of only two vocal chamber ensembles in the nation that employs its artists as full-time professionals. As a nonprofit, the vast majority of our resources are invested directly and immediately into Cantus’ artistic and educational mission, leaving little “padding” for such dramatic contingencies as this.

Finally, a moment of sincere thanks: that Cantus has thrived for a quarter century is the remarkable result of not only the talent and vision of so many artists, but also the extraordinary generosity of those who have invested in the organization’s mission. We look forward to a brighter day when we can gather again and celebrate all that we’ve created together over 25 years.
