2022-23 Concert Season

Cantus’ 28th season encompasses five all-new programs that showcase the ensemble’s remarkable versatility. Join us in-person or online for an unforgettable season!

Single tickets for in-person concerts in the Greater Twin Cities are on sale now.

Tickets for online concerts go on sale approximately four weeks ahead of each program.

Reaffirming its commitment to access, Cantus will continue to offer online concerts on a pay-what-you-can model starting at $5. Single tickets to select in-person concerts will also be available on a similar pay-what-you-can basis, and student tickets remain $5.

Masks are strongly recommended at Cantus concerts. Cantus will continue to revisit this policy as the season progresses, factoring in case numbers, advice from medical professionals, and audience feedback.

AND ALL THE DAYS WERE PURPLE

July 11 – 14, 2023

The classical world is full of breathtaking art song in German, French, and Italian that lift the spirit and move the soul. In And All the Days Were Purple, Cantus explores a kaleidoscope of works in languages less often heard in art song: Yiddish, English, and Hebrew. The program encompasses works by Jewish and Jewish-American composers including Pulitzer Prize nominee Alex Weiser, whose stunning work “and all the days were purple” highlights the expressiveness of the Yiddish language alongside an ensemble comprising string trio, piano, vibraphone, and glockenspiel.
