Cantus in New York
The “always entertaining” (Classics Today) low-voice ensemble Cantus will present their program “Wanting Memories” in an hour-long concert at Trinity Lutheran Church in New York City on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at 5pm. The performance coincides with the annual Association of Performing Arts Professionals (APAP) showcase event. Anchored by Ysaÿe M. Barnwell’s piece of the same name that has long been a Cantus repertory staple, “Wanting Memories” explores the enduring relationship between music and memory.
The Cantus Concert, ‘Wanting Memories’, was wonderful! A wide selection of music, sung by this wonderful vocal group. Highly recommended!
Absolutely incredible talent, relevant material, highest quality vocalists/creative musicians you will hear.
After seeing a few concerts within this year‘s season for Cantus, I am more impressed than ever at their musicianship, and their ability to connect with their audience members. Keep doing what you’re doing!

About Cantus
The “engaging” (New Yorker) low-voice ensemble Cantus is widely known for its trademark warmth and blend, innovative programming and riveting performances of music ranging from the Renaissance to the 21st century. As one of the nation’s few full-time vocal ensembles, Cantus has come to prominence with its distinctive approach to creating music. Working without a conductor, the members of Cantus rehearse and perform as chamber musicians, each contributing to the entirety of the artistic process, creating programs that give voice to shared human experiences. Cantus enjoys a vigorous schedule of national and international touring.
