Cantus Tenor Bass Festival

The Cantus Tenor Bass Festival is a free musical opportunity for high school tenor, baritone, and bass singers across Northern Minnesota to join together for a day of music-making and community building. This experience is open to all high school low-voice singers regardless of musical experience or gender expression. With a goal of expanding musical confidence and building intra-high school camaraderie, your singers will learn from professionals in the field of choral music.

As clinicians, Cantus will offer expertise on changed voice production, musicality, and collaboration. Cantus will rehearse and conduct the mass choir in a joint performance open to the public at the conclusion of the day-long festival.

Participants will learn three individual pieces in advance of the festival, with one of them being a new commission by Shruthi Rajasekar, an award-winning, Minnesota-based composer. Learning tracks will be made available in mid-January.
